IFCO SYSTEMS (FRA:IFE1) announces today, that Pao de Açucar Group (Companhia Brasileira de Distribuição) a leading food retailer in Brazil with annual revenues of USD 10 billion, has signed a long term agreement with IFCO SYSTEMS to become its exclusive RPC service provider for fruits and vegetables.
Pao de Açucar operates nearly 600 stores with 22 distribution centers in 15 Brazilian states and employs 66 thousand employees.
IFCO SYSTEMS do Brasil Serviços de Embalagem Ltda head office is located in Barueri, a major logistic area close to Sao Paulo City and to the major retailers distribution centers. Regional branches in the cities of Fortaleza, Recife, Salvador, Brasilia, Curitiba and Rio de Janeiro will be opened during October 2008. Regional branches in the cities of Porto Alegre and Belo Horizonte are planned for 2009. Following these openings, IFCO SYSTEMS do Brazil will provide RPC services to all growers and distributors in the major regions of Brazil.
